Aprilynne Pike's series is so good that I cannot put these books down. I started the third book immediately after finishing this book. This series is just so good, and the second book did not disappoint.
The book starts out with Laurel getting faerie training in Avalon. It's a little slow during this part of the book, but I was captivated by the beauty in Avalon. When I was reading, I felt like I was there. I could feel the warmth of the sun and smell the fragrance from the beautiful flowers.
At the end of summer, Laurel goes back to her human life and goes straight from classes in Avalon to classes at public school in the human world. She is having a hard time deciding if she belongs in the human world or the faerie world. It doesn't help that her heart is torn between both Tamani and David.
It's been a long time since Laurel has seen or heard from trolls, but the faeries advise her to be on guard at all times because they will strike when she least expects it. She has a faerie potions kit that she carries everywhere. One night, when Laurel and David are at an end of summer party, Laurel spots trolls outside, and they are both captured. Only thanks to Klea, a human who has been hunting trolls, do they escape.
David instantly trusts Klea who arms both him and Laurel with guns for protection. Laurel is hesitant to trust someone who hunts nonhumans and arms minors with illegal weapons. She keeps her faerie identity from Klea.
Should Laurel trust Klea? What will happen when Barnes strikes again? Does Laurel belong in the human world with David and her family or the faerie world with Tamani?
Go beyond the book jacket and hardcover, and take a peek inside the next book on your reading list. This is my review, my summary, and my thoughts on the latest books I've read or am reading.

Sweep Series #8 Changeling by Cate Tiernan
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
If You Like: Witchcraft, Teen Books
Simliar to: Twilight
Ages: 13-30
**********WARNING: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS. DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ BOOKS #1-7****************
Nothing huge happened in this book, but it's another branch in the series, and I really enjoyed reading it. By the eighth book, you feel like you know the characters. When I read these books I feel like I am living out my life with these characters, especially since the passing of time in the books is so slow.
Morgan has broken up with Hunter because she believes she is bad for him, but her feelings for him are stronger than ever. Her parents are going out of town for two weeks, and right when they leave, Morgan gets a knock on the door. A lady named Eoife from the council wants Morgan to get close to her father because they believe that he has ordered up a dark wave that will kill all of Starlocket. Will Morgan be able to save Starlocket by getting close to her father? Will Morgan's deception end up in her death or will she fall for her father's charm instead of betraying him?
